Online-Catalog search (How to)
The Arnold & Friederike Isenberg Library is part of the Southwest German Library Network (SWB), so you can search our entire collection online in the K10plus union catalog (subject catalog) or in the SWB online catalog (classic) (general catalog). Our library code (identifier) is already set in the online search links mentioned above, allowing you to view our holdings directly.
To search our collection, always enter our library code (identifier) as a search parameter in the online catalog's search field:
[ sig:2830 ]
If you want to search our collection for a specific title, for example, enter our library code followed by another search parameter for the title:
[ sig:2830; tit:your-title-search ]
When entering multiple search parameters, be sure to separate them with a semicolon "; ".
Further assistance with using the online catalog search can be found in the SWB Help Wiki.

History
With the renovation of the community hall in 2016, the board and advisory council of the synagogue association were able to realize a long-held wish: the establishment of a library. Books had been collected for this purpose for many years, and some personal papers were already in the collection. Helmut Gabeli from Haigerloch, highly esteemed and sorely missed by all of us, bequeathed the majority of his specialized library on Judaism, German-Jewish history, Shoah, and Israel to the synagogue association.
Books by Walter Looser-Heidger from Rottweil, who died in 2010, have also become part of the library, and in 2020, Sibylle Höschele from Sulzburg donated a large number of books from her private library. Heiner Lang, a former Protestant pastor from Rexingen, also donated many of his books on Christian-Jewish dialogue to us years ago, and a large collection on the same topic came to us from the Haas Guesthouse in Freudenstadt. Hermann Schäffner from Stuttgart donated several boxes of books, including books on Israel.
