We offer free worksheets on Jewish life in Rexingen for use in class preparation and follow-up work or for independent study.

The collection covers a wide range of topics, including Christian-Jewish coexistence since the early modern period, the long road to equality in the 19th century, Rexingen under the swastika, and the mass emigration of Jewish families from Rexingen.

The worksheets are available for free download on the website of the Gedenkstättenverbund Gäu-Neckar-Alb e.V. (Gäu-Neckar-Alb Memorial Association).

“From the Neckar to the Mediterranean”

The resource booklet “From the Neckar to the Mediterranean” tells the story of an extraordinary group emigration of Jewish families from Rexingen to the British Mandate of Palestine in 1938. It contains historical background information, source material, and teaching ideas – ideal for classroom use or project work from grade 9 onwards. The booklet can be downloaded free of charge from the website of the State Agency for Civic Education Baden-Württemberg.

How do I book an offer?

If you are interested in one of our educational programs, we look forward to receiving your inquiry by email at bildung@ehemalige-synagoge-rexingen.de

How much advance notice do I need to make a booking?

At least two weeks, preferably three to four. However, we try to accommodate short-notice visits as well.

How large can a group be?

The ideal number of students is 30. For larger groups, please consult with us in advance.

How long do the educational programs last?

Usually 90 to 120 minutes (see the respective offer description).

Is there a charge for visiting?

All offers are free of charge for school classes. We will inform you of the costs for adult groups on request. The price depends on the size and format of the group.

I can't find a suitable training program – are there any customized programs available?

We are happy to tailor the learning content and methods of our tours and workshops to your individual needs and the interests of your students. Please contact us so that we can provide you with personalized advice.

Should the visit be prepared and followed up with my class during school lessons?

Eine gezielte Vor- und Nachbereitung im Unterricht hilft den Schüler:innen, den Gedenkstättenbesuch besser einzuordnen, persönliche Zugänge zu finden und das Erlebte nachhaltig zu reflektieren. Bei Bedarf stellen wir Ihnen ergänzende Arbeitsblätter und Materialien zur Verfügung.

What about accessibility?

Unfortunately, our historical memorial and learning sites are not barrier-free. Please contact us in advance so that we can clarify the access options according to your needs. To ensure that all participants can follow along easily, we use a mobile audio system with headsets when necessary. This guarantees clear intelligibility and a pleasant visitor experience, even for larger groups.
